The Catalan organist, harpsichordist and pianist, Daniel Tarrida, he began playing the piano with A. Giménez Attenelle as his principal teacher and later continued his studies with C. Valero and A. Besses. He was awarded, among others, the first prize in the XXVII XXVII Concurs de Joves Intèrprets de Joventuts Musicals.
Daniel Tarrida has worked in the world of Lied with F. Poyato, A. Mateu, T. Ruf and Mitsuko Shirai, and recently, he has formed a duo with C. Tinney. He is the founder of the BZM project and Director of the BACHcelona: Festival Bach de Barcelona (since July 2013) and the EDINBACH Festival (2017) in Edinburgh. With these projects, he has been able to collaborate with such renowned performers as Ton Koopman, Klaus Mertens, Stephan MacLeod, Shunske Sato, Philippe Thuriot, J. de la Rubia, C. Pouvreau and S. Küchler-Blessing.
Finally, he has also worked on stage proposals linked to classical music such as the shows Somiant el carnaval dels animals and La casa flotant, productions of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, and El castillo rojo , premiered at the 58th Festival Internacional de Música i Dansa de Granada. In this last proposal he was also responsible for the musical arrangements, for which he was nominated for the 2011 Max Award for Best Musical Composition for a Stage Show. |
