The Italian baritone, Max Tavella, received his first singing lessons from Valeria Gasser at the age of 11. He took part in the youth competition “Prima la musica” several times, where he won 2nd prize. Since 2015 he has been studying singing with Bernd Valentin at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. In productions at the Mozarteum University he appeared in Francis Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmélites in June 2016 in the roles of the Commissioner and Javelinot. In 2017 he sang Saretzki in Eugene Onegin and appeared as Betto and Notary in Gianni Schicchi. As part of the Mozarteum International Summer Academy he sang the role of Caronte in Haydn’s opera Orlando Paladino. In February 2018 he was heard as Uberto in Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's La serva padrona at the Salzburg Marionette Theatre, and in May 2018 he sang the same role in a performance at the Mozarteum University. In June 2018, he sang the role of Snug in Benjamin Britten's A Midsummer Night Dream at the Mozarteum University. He is a member of the Ensemble BachWerkVokal Salzburg (Director: Gordon Safari). |
