Yolanda Auyanet (Soprano)

Born: Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

The Spanish soprano, Yolanda Auyanet, studied music initially at the Conservatory of Las Palmas; later moved to to Barcelona where she perfected her voice at the Conservatorio del Liceo and later on with the Polish baritone Jerzy Artyz, who still continues to advise her in her career. She won the 3rd prize at the International Competition “Francisco Vinas” of Barcelona and the 1st prize at the International Competition of Toulouse.

After her debut in Bari as Musetta in Bohème, Yolanda Auyanet appeared as Gilda in Rigoletto in Las Palmas and as in Traviata at the Teatro de la Zarzuela of Madrid. She followed with La Traviata in Lima and her debut in the title role of Lucia di Lammermoor in Bogotà. In 1996 she appeared with Alfredo Kraus in concert at the Teatro della Zarzuela of Madrid, in which she performed with the great tenor selections from Dona Francisquita and Werther.

In the following years Yolanda Auyanet succeeded to enrich her repertoire, with numerous roles, among them:
Mozart's Cosi fan tutte (Fiordiligi), Le nozze di Figaro (Susanna), Die Zauberflöte (Pamina); Donizetti's Don Pasquale (Norina) and La fille du Régiment (Maria); Bellini's Capuleti e Montecchi (Giulietta); Verdi's Falstaff (Nannetta); Puccini's La Bohème (Mimì) and Turandot (Liù), as well as lesser known roles in operas as: Il Socrate immaginario by Paisiello, Una cosa rara by Martin y Soler and Venus and Adonis by J. Blow.

Yolanda Auyanet has sung at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova, at the Teatro Regio in Torino, at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, at the Teatro Regio in Parma, at the Teatro dell’Opera Giocosa in Savona, at the Teatro Verdi in Pisa, at the Teatro Goldoni in Livorno, at the Opera of Nizza, at the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele in Messina, at the Stadtteather of St.Gallen, at the Konzerthaus of Vienna, at the Sferisterio of Macerata and in 2002 at the Arena of Verona in Carmen by Georges Bizet (Micaela) directed by Franco Zefirelli and conducted by Alain Lombard.

Yolanda Auyanet's recent engagements include: Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at the Teatro Villamarta in Jerez, Donna Fiorilla in Il turco in Italia at the Temporada de Opera in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and at Teatro Regio in Torino. Upcoming engagements include her debut in Pagliacci (Nedda) in Las Palmas, followed by Dona Francisquita in St. Gallen, Carmen in Savona, Don Giovanni in Cordoba, La Bohème in Las Palmas and Le Nozze di Figaro in Jerez.
