The German soprano, Sophia Desirée Bauer, studied singing with Professor Arno Leicht at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg (2013-2017); and completed her Master of Music in Singing with a focus on opera at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf in the class of Anja Paulus (October 2017-2020). She received a scholarship from the Richard-Wagner-Verbands Nürnberg. She was funded by the Deutschlandstipendium and is currently a scholarship holder of the Vereins YEHUDI MENUHIN Live Music Now Rhein-Ruhr. She attended master classes with Juliane Banse, Olaf Bär and Kammersängerin Angelika Kirchschlager. She received important technical vocal impulses from Ingeborg Danz.
Sophia Bauer is a freelance soprano, very active in the concert field. She has already worked with well-known orchestras such as the Bamberger Symphoniker under Kahchun Wong or the Beethoven Orchester Bonn under Dirk Kaftan and has performed as a soloist in the Tonhalle Düsseldorf. She also sings in several well-known ensembles, such as the WDR Rundfunkchor Köln, ChorWerk Ruhr (Director: Florian Helgath) and Vocalensemble Rastatt (Director: Holger Speck). In the 2020-2021 season she was an academic and received a scholarship from the WDR Rundfunkchor Köln.
In 2019, Sophia Bauer made a guest appearance at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein as Papagena in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte für Kinder, conducted by Ville Enckelmann. In opera productions at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf, she sang the role of Helena in Benjamin Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream. In the coming season she will be seen at the Theater Koblenz as the Flower Girl in Richard Wagner's Parsifal.
In addition to her work as a freelance opera and concert singer, Sophia Bauer is studying for a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf (since 2020). |
