Torsten Forslöw (Tenor)

Born: June 13, 1921 - Hedesunda, Sweden
Died: June 7, 2002 - Sollentuna, Sweden

The Swedish tenor, Torsten Forslöw, studied with Ragnar Hultén.

At the end of the 1940's, Torsten Forslöw got in contact with the conductor Eric Ericson, who offered him to join the then newly established Eric Ericson Chamber Choir. From 1952 to 1982, he was a member and soloist of the Schwedischer Rundfunkchor (Swedish Radio Chorus). During the 1950's and 1960's, he appeared often in Orphei Drängar (OD). During his entire active career Forslöw was a frequent romans- and oratorio singer. Other musicians with whom he had significant co-operation include Gunnar Holm, Gunno Södersten, Rune Franzén and Herbert Blomstedt.

Torsten Forslöw appeared on several Swedish Radio broadcastings and album recordings, e.g "Europäische Chormusik aus fünf Jahrhunderten" (1971, EMI 7243 5 65344 21 (CD) / 12 9916 3 (LP), uncredited). He also recorded for the record label Sirius, owned by Svenska Missionsförbundet (Swedish Mission Covenant).
