Joseph Fuchs (Conductor, Violin)

Born: April 26, 1900 - New York, USA

The American violinist, conductor and teacher, Joseph [Josef] (Philip) Fuchs, was brother of the violist, teacher and composer Lilian Fuchs. He studied violin with Kneisel at the Institute of Musical Art in New York.

Joseph Fuchs was concert-master of the Cleveland Orchestra from 1926 to 1940. He made his New York debut in 1943. He joined the faculty of the Juilliard School of Music in New York in 1946. He toured Europe in 1954, South America in 1957, and Russia in 1965.
