The Italian soprano, Mariella Gernone, graduated in opera singing at the Conservatorio “N. Piccinni” in Bari with full marks, under the guidance of the baritone Luigi De Corato.
Mariella Gernone carried out an intense concert activity for important musical institutions ranging from the sacred to the profane, from chamber music to opera. She stood out for the elegant duet with the solo trumpet of Rocco Caponio in J.S. Bach's Cantata BWV 51, and in duet with the baritone Piero Naviglio in J.S. Bach's Cantata BWV 140. She performed at the "Piccolo Esquilino" and "Argilla" theaters in the city of Rome with a show entitled "Passeggiata Poetica Musicale" reproduction of the musical life of the Cafè dell'Epoca. She sang the supportive roles of Giovanna in G. Verdi's Rigoletto, Flora in G. Verdi's La Traviata and Berta in G.Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia in the most important theaters in Italy. She performed a splendid performance as Soprano Soloist, for the Italo-Russian Delegation, of San Nicola, in Villa Costantino Bari, and, later, on tour in Russia, with a Recital of Neapolitan Classics and a Concert of Sacred Arias at the presence of Russian and Italian authorities in the large Auditorium below the Church of "Christ the Savior" in Moscow. She currently lives in Bari, Italy. |
