Hallenser Madrigalisten (Choir)

Founded: 1963 - Halle (Saale), Saxony-Anhalt, Germany

The Hallenser Madrigalisten, chamber choir at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg, have devoted themselves since their foundation in 1963 above all to the interpretation of 16th and 17th century choral music. Numerous prizes at international competitions and other awards have been bestowed on the approximately 20 singers, musicologists and lecturers, students and singing teachers, who make up the choir. Five records, hundreds of broadcast recordings, and concert at home and abroad have introduced the Hallenser Madrigalisten to a wide range of audiences.
