László Kovács (Conductor)

Born: Hungary

The Hungarian conductor, László Kovács, studied conducting at the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy in Budapest. He then learned conducting at the Tschaikowski Conservatory in Moscow, as well as in the Grand Theatre with Jurij Simonow, and on the invitation of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with Antal Doráti.

Following his studies, László Kovács was active in the Hungarian State Opera as a conductor. He became prize winner: in 1989 Liszt, and in 1993 Bartók-Pásztory.
