Barbara Löcher (Soprano)

Born: Bern, Switzerland

The Swiss soprano, Barbara Löcher [Locher], studied singing with professor Jakob Stämpfli at the Bern Academy of music and with professor Elsa Cavelti in Basel.

Barbara Löcher has been performing as a concert singer since 1979. She gave many concerts in full Europe and Canada... Since 1984 she has been giving singing lessons at the Lucerne Academy (Switzerland). She has a regular collaboration with Christian Kabitz (Bachverein choir, Cecilienverein Choir...).

In June 1989 Barbara Löcher made a record: Georg Philipp Telemann, the Beatific Contemplation, under the direction of Wolfgang Schäfer. Participant in the international music weeks of Lucerne in 1986 (C. Monteverdi: Mary's Vespers), in 1988 (C. Monteverdi: Selva Morale), in 1990 (F. Martin: Golgotha).
