Gregor Lütje (Boy Soprano)

Born: April 5, 1968 - Munich, Germany

The German boy soprano, Gregor Lütje [Martin-Gregor Lütje], had professional experience and networking in the world of opera since the age of 7. He was a soloist of the Tölzer Knabenchor from 1976 to 1983. He is currently active in opera production.

Gregor Lütje was 1st soloist in Tölzer Knabenchor - five years of soloist singing under the baton of all important conductors of the time and at many of the important European music centres (Salzburg and Munich Festival, opera houses of Frankurt, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Geneva etc.)

CD/ DVD productions (amongst others: J.S. Bach's Weihnachts-Oratorium (BWV 248) – soprano arias with Nikolaus Harnoncourt (Universal), Purcell's: Dido in Dido and Aeneas (broadcast by West German Television), Mozart: 2nd boy in Die Zauberflöte under Bernard Haitink (EMI), TV- portrait for German State Television etc.).

From 1983-1986 Martin-Gregor Lütje worked for FIB - films for education, Munich (cultural documentaries about Hermann Prey, A. Everding a.o.). In 1986 he finished the secondary school with high degrees - main attention on foreign languages such as English, Dutch, French, Italian (all spoken fluently). From 1987 to 1989 he studied at the Law school of the Regensburg University with focus on copyright law; during this time he also worked for BMG Classics and artists’ agency Lore Blümel. From 1989 to 1995 he studied opera-directing with Prof. Götz Friedrich at Hamburg high school for music and theatre - final production: Carl Orff's Die Kluge.

From 1995 to 2003 Martin-Gregor Lütje worked as a director (Prinzregententheater Munich, Stadttheater Bielefeld, Teatro Communale di Modena), director’s assistant to W. Decker, R. Carsen, A. Homoki, C. Harms, D. Dorn and J. Schaaf and revival director for leading opera houses in Germany, England, France, Italy, Spain, Benelux, Austria, Switzerland - artistic collaboration with singers such as W. Meier, Plácido Domingo, A. Netrebko, Rolando Villazón, Matti Salminen a.o.

From 2003 to 2005 Martin-Gregor Lütje was Head of production planning at Dresden Semeropera House, including work as artistic director of Semperopera’s experimental kleine szene”. In 2005-2006 he worked as an artist’s agent with TACT - artists’ agency, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In 2006-2007 he worked as an artist’s agent with Allegro Artist Management, Berlin and Helsinki, Finland. In August 2007 he opened his own agency - Lütje Artist Manageent - promotion, coaching and sales.
