Marc Meersman (Baritone)

Born: December 3, 1955 - Belgium

The Belgian baritone, Marc Meersman, studied singing ant the conservatories of Brussels and Aken. He also participated in master-classes by Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau.

As a concert singer Marc Meersman has appeared in the Philippines, Cameron, Israel, Egypt and Canada. In the field of theatre he has participated in operettes and musicalstheater, with the Koninklijk Ballet van Vlaanderen in The Man of La Mancha, The Fox .. Jesus Christ Superstar, The Phantom of the Opera and Kuifje. He gave guest performances at VRT and VTM (Hof van Assisen, Samson and Gert, etc.), and sang the national hymn at the music ceremony of Euro 2000. In the Disney film 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' he sang the role of Aarstdeken, and for Warner Bros the role of Ruber in 'The Magic Sword'.

Marc Meersman recorded solo parts for CD’s of Erato, Harmonia Mundi, Sony Classics and EMI and made the two successful CD’s 'Magic Melodies'.
