Peter Schoenaker (Baritone)

Born: The Netherlands

The Dutch baritone, Peter H. Schoenaker, studied singing with Margreet Honig at Conservatorium Amsterdam (1995-1998), and privately with Pierre Mak (1998-2002). He was also coached by Pieter van den Berg (2002), Martin Wright (2005), James Mc Cray; and attended master-classes: with Professor Norma Enns in Montepulciano, Italy (1998) and Paula de Wit & David Prins in Ratilly, France (2002).

Since 2000 Peter Schoenaker has been working as a freelance singer. He does not limit his choice of repertoire and as such this includes roles like Miltenberger from Bremer Freiheit by Adriana Hölzsky (Konzert Haus, Berlin) and the General from Drebbel by Kees Wieringa (de parade Alkmaar) as well as roles such as Grimbald in King Arthur by Purcell (ABConsort Amsterdam) and Erminio from Il Trionfo dell'Onore by Alessandro Scarlatti (Opera Trionfo). Childrenís opera forms a seperate branch of mhis work, one which he finds very rewarding. Worth mentioning are the roles of Isegrim in Reineke Fuchs by Ulrike Haage (Opernwerkstatt am Rhein) and Malatesta in Don Pasquale by Donizetti (Luxembourg National Theatre).

Fargerudd (Yo- Festival Utrecht en Nat.Opera Helsinki, 2003); Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream by B.
