Stanislav Shvets (Bass)

Born: Sverdlovsk, Russia

The Russian bass, Stanislav Shvets, graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory (training course of Professor P. Gluboky). He is the winner of the Belvedere International Vocal Competition (Vienna, Austria, 1994), the Rimsky-Korsakov International Competition (Saint-Petersburg, 1996).

Stanislav Shvets made his debut in 1997 on the stage of the Irish Opera. He has been collaborating with Helikon-Opera since 2006. He is a guest soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theatre (Saint-Petersburg). He has appeared on the stages of the Bolshoi Theatre, Mariinsky Theatre (Saint-Petersburg), Mikhailovsky Theater, Opéra Bastille (Paris, France), San-Francisco Opera (USA), Staatsoper Berlin and Frankfurt Opera (Germany), Monte-Carlo Opera (Monaco), Canadian Opera, Gran Teatro del Liceo (Barcelona, Spain), Chile Opera. He took part in festivals such as the Salzburger Festspiele (Austria) and the Glyndebourne Festival Opera (Great Britain).

Stanislav Shvets has collaborated with such conductors as Lorin Maazel, V. Gergiev, Mikhail Pletnev, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Vladimir Jurowski, G. Conlon, Jesús López-Cobos, E. Kolobov, V. Carignani and T. Currentzis. His roles have included: The Dutchman and Daland in The Flying Dutchman, Heinrich der Vogler in Lohengrin, Count Rodolfo in La sonnambula, Monterone and Sparafucile in Rigoletto, Ramphis in Aida, Basilio in Barbiere di Sivilgia, Leporello in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni, Sarastro in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Boris Godunov and Pimen in Boris Godunov, Prince Gremin in Eugene Onegin, etc. During 17 years he was working with a pianist and concertmaster V. Chachava.
