Martin Summer (Bass)

Born: 1988 - Feldkirch, Vorarlberg, Austria

The Autrian bass, Martin Summer, completed successfully double-bass studies with Professor Francisco Obieta at the Vorarlberger Landeskonservatorium and a course in choral conducting and church music. From 2012 to 2016 he studied singing at the Kunstuniversität Graz.

Opera productions have led Martin Summer, among others, to the Oper Graz, Landestheater Bregenz, Styriarte Festival in Graz and the Brucknerfest Linz. At the Stadttheater Klagenfurt he made his debut in December 2015 as Zuniga in Georges Bizet's Carmen. In 2016-2017 season, he was at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan and performed there, among others. as Sarastro in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and as Frate in Don Carlo. In addition, he was heard as a soloist in W.A. Mozart's Requiem under the baton of Zubin Mehta at the Cathedral of Tortona. Since the 2017-2018 season , he is a member of the ensemble at the Theater St.Gallen in Switzerland, where he has appeared as Colline in La bohème and Rocco in L.v. Beethoven's Fidelio.
