Born: March 23, 1942 - Bern, Switzerland

The Swiss bass-baritone, Niklaus Tüller, studied flute playing before becoming a singer, mainly under the tutelage of Sylvia Gähwiller and Ernst Haefliger. He won several distinctions by 1970 (unclosing Geneva and s’Hertogenbosch).

Niklaus Tüller’s major career began in 1971 in the fields of oratorio, concerts and lieder-recitals. He has appeared throughout Europe to high critical acclaim, including the festivals of Lucerne, Montreux, Marais-Paris and Flanders, and he toured Japan and Israel (debut in 1976) with Helmuth Rilling and the Gächinger Kantorei.
