Lois Varga (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: December 24, 1926- USA
Died: April 30, 2010 - Clarion, Pennsylvania, USA

Lois E. Varga was an American mezzo-soprano. In 1965, she appeared at the Carmel Bach Festival under Sandor Salgo, singing J.S. Bach's Magnificat in D major (BWV 243), and in 1970 she sang there W.A. Mozart's The Magic Flute. In 1974, she was soloist with the Festival Chorusof Calgary, Alberta, Canada under John Searchfield, singing Purcell’s My Heart is Inditing and Mozart’s. Requiem. On August 11, 1998 her vehicle was struck in Clarion, Pennsylvania, causing her serious injuries.
