Lieuwe Visser (Bass-Baritone)

Born: August 23, 1940 - Diemen, the Netherland
Died: March 4, 2014 - Amsterdam, the Netherland

The Dutch bass-baritone, Lieuwe Visser, debuted in 1973 as Don Basilio in Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rossini). In 1966 he co-operated at the 'Holland Festival' and afterwards at lots of premieres, a.o. Dorian Gray (1974, Wilde/Kox), Dr. Faustus (1985, K. Boehmer), Gassir the Hero (1991, Loevendie), Noach (1995, G. Janssen). He appeared serious as well as buffo roles in a very wide repertoire.

Lieuwe Visser was also an active concert- ,oratorio- and Lieder singer and declamator. Further appearances in Europa and the USA.
