Georg Ludwig Agricola was a German composer of chamber music, etc. His father was a clergyman; he was brought up at Eisenach and Gotha and the universities of Wittenberg and Leipzig, and became Kapellmeister at Gotha in 1670.
Georg Ludwig Agricola composed Musikalische Nebenstunden for 2 violins, 2 violas am! bass; religious hymns and madrigals; sonatas and preludes, auf französische Art, etc. He died full of promise, but without accomplishing a style for himself. |
