Johann Christoph Clauder was a teacher at the University of Leipzig. In 1734 he wrote the text for J.S. Bach’s secular cantata ‘Preise dein Glücke, gesegnetes Sachsen’ BWV 215, performed on October 5 to celebrate the first anniversary of Friedrich August II’s election as King August III of Poland.
