Caspar Friedrich Nachtenhöfer (Hymn-Writer)

Born: March 5, 1624 - Halle, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany
Died: November 23, 1685 - Coburg, Bavaria, Germany

Caspar [Kaspar] Friedrich Nachtenhöfer was a German hymn-writer. He was educated in Leipzig. In 1651 he became diaconus, and in 1655 pastor in Meeder, near Coburg;. In 1671 he became pastor in Coburg .

Caspar Friedrich Nachtenhöfer's hymns include: Dies ist die Nacht, da mir erschienen; Kommst du nun, Jesu, vom Himmel herunter auf Erden; “So gehst du nun, mein Jesu, hin.
