Paul Christian Stolle [Stol] was a German Kantor, organist and rector. He was born the son of Johann Heinrich Stolle (baker in Johanngeorgenstadt). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on December 16, 1722; studied there from as an Internus from 1722 to 1733, already as external since July 13, 1722, thus he was officially a Thomaner from age 16 to 27. In a report from August 23, 1730, J.S. Bach wrote on him: “usable for 1st Choir (figural music)”; Prefect. He enrolled at the University of Leipzig on on May 20, 1733. After his studies, he worked as informant in Auma from 1734; Kantor and organist from 1734 and Rector from 1744 in Auma. J.S. Bach certified in 1734 Stolle behavior at the Thomasschule and "Learning the Music and the Clavier through private instruction with me". It was not possible to determine whether Stolle received lessons as a Thomaner or only as a student.
