Christoph Transchel (Bach's Pupil)

Born: June 12, 1721 - Braunsdorf, near Weißenfels, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany
Died: January 8, 1800 - Dresden, Saxony, Germany

Christoph Transchel was a Germany keyboard teacher. He entered the Gymnasium in Merseburg in 1731 and enrolled as a student of philosophy and theology at the University of Leipzig in 1742. He also studied privately with J.S. Bach while in Leipzig. In 1755 he established himself as a keyboard teacher in Dresden, where he died.
