Delirium Amoris is an early music ensemble on original instruments founded in Bologna in 2023. The ensemble mainly dedicates to Italian Baroque music of the 17th and 18th centuries. Particular attention is referred to musicological research in favor of lesser-known composers, with the aim of bringing their compositions to light, relating them to the great masterpieces of early music, reinterpreted according to the most recent historiographical discoveries.
The group is currently perfecting under the guidance of internationally renowned teachers, such as Maestros Enrico Onofri, Roberto Loreggian, Claudio Astronio, Anna Fontana, Luca Giardini, Alessandro Palmeri, Bettina Hoffmann, and Enrico Gatti.
The group is regularly invited to participate to important music festivals and reviews, such as Grandezze & Meraviglie Festival in Modena, Festival of Società Bolognese per la Musica Antica in Bologna, Festival dei Saraceni in Pamparato, Mo'Mo Festival and Cherry Notes for Torino Unione Musicale. In 2023 and 2024 the group was invited as artist in residence at Orsolina28 Art Foundation.
After an intense research work on Antonio Montagnana, a famous 18th century Venetian bass, culminating in a trilogy of concerts tracing his career, the ensemble currently offers various musical proposals, ranging from vocal to instrumental formations, with a different number of musicians. Actually, their new research project contains some world premiere recordings, and it’s focused on Antonio Antonio Vivaldi's musical legacy in Europe; it will be the ensemble's debut disc, due for release soon. |
