Sophie Harr (Soprano) |
Born: Altensteig, Calw District, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. |
The German soprano and music teacher, Sophie Harr, enjoyed a solid musical education at the Altensteig Musikgymnasium school and in the Christophorus-Kantorei Altensteig. She then studied music education with a major in violin (with Anne Katharina Schreiber) and elementary music education with a major in singing (with Professor Regina Kabis-Elsner) at the Musikhochschule Freiburg, as well as history at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, before moving to the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe to study singing with Professor Holger Speck. She found further musical inspiration through master-classes and continuing education courses, for example with Ton Koopman, Dorothea Wirtz, Pauliina Tukiainen, Jan van Elsacker, Dorothea Röschmann, Manfred Cordes, Rita Dams and Lionel Meunier.
In addition to regular solo performances, Sophie Harr loves making music together, both in smaller formations and in various independent ensembles and radio choirs. In 2022 she was selected for the Balthasar-Neumann-Chor (Director: Thomas Hengelbrock). In the 2022-2023 season she completed an internship at the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart, with which she will continue to work as a freelance employee. She is also a member of the Gaechinger Cantorey (Director: Hans-Christoph Rademann).
Sophie Harr continues to work as a music teacher. Her main focus is on voice training and singing lessons, children's choir work, early childhood education and adult education with a focus on singing with children. She has recently discovered the field of program booklet creation and is delighted to be able to bring her experience from studying history to the table. |
