Lia Andres (Soprano)

Born: Basel, Switzerland

The Swiss soprano, Lia Andres, passed her Matura with Music as special subject in 2005 in Basel. The enthusiasm for singing accompanies her since she was 7 years ol, and found its climax to date in her Master's degree (Education) at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Evelyn Tubb. Since then, she continues her studies privately with Jakob Pilgram in Basel and Mariette Witteveen in The Hague. She attended master-classes with Margreet Honig, Lina Maria Äkerlund, Mariette Witteveen and Alessandro de Marchi.

In addition to its versatile solo concert activities, Lia Andres works as a vocal coach and is a member of the professional vocal ensemble Larynx, the Baroque ensemble Voces Suaves, Chor der J.S. Bach-Stiftung St. Gallen (Director: Rudolf Lutz) and famm. With her wide repertoire from Monteverdi to contemporary music, she has devoted herself particularly to the interpretation of Baroque works.
