Founded: 1985 - Stuttgart, Germany

The Barockorchester Stuttgart (= BOS), founded in 1985, is an ensemble which specializes in performing music of the 18th century and the first half of the 19th century.

The professional musicians play exclusively on original instruments. The ensemble's wide-ranging repertoire comprises choral and orchestral music, symphonic works, and, above all, operas. The BOS is the regular orchestra of the Internationales Festtage Alter Musik Stuttgart.

Recent recordings include the Carus productions of the complete incidental music to Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream by Felix Mendelssohn and Mozart's Requiem.
