The German contralto, Christa Diwiak (formerly Bonhoff ), received piano instruction when she was 11 years old. A further musical milestone was the C-training for church musicians. At the age of 18, she took her first singing lessons with Mrs. U. Vosskamp in Duisburg. After graduating from high school she studied singing at the at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg with Professor Annie Schoonus, as well as courses of Lieder, oratorios, opera and singing teaching. She also studied there Lieder and oratorio and vocal pedagogy there, both of which she completed with a diploma. She also studied in the opera class and took part in numerous opera productions.
Christa Diwiak pariscipated in opera productions at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg and already during her studies had guest engagements at the Hamburgischen Staatsope, including in co-operation with the Münchener Biennale. In March 1988, during her studies, she became a member of the NDR Chor (now the NDR Vokalensemble). In addition to her choir work, her artistic focus is on solo singing - especially in concert. Concert engagements take her all over Germany. She is a member of the ensemble Tanto Canto with Monika Frimmer, Dantes Diwiak and Peter Kooij. |
