Anna-Sophie Brosig (Soprano)

Born: March 31, 1988 - Bielefeld, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

The German soprano, Anna-Sophie Brosig Kirchhübel, obtained her Diplom k.A. in singing from the Musikhochschule Münster (2010-2014). She continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold (2014-2016) with Susan Anthony and Caroline Thomas, where she graduated in 2016 with Master of Music degree in opera with honors. Master-classes with Sibylla Rubens, Berhard Adler, Uwe Heilmann, Peter Kreutz and Götz Alsmann (Chanson) gave her further impulses. Already during her studies, she received her first engagement at the Theater Bielefeld (February-July 2016), followed by engagement at the Theater Münster in the Jungen Theater (September-November 2016). In 2016 she was awarded the GWK Music Prize in Münster / Westphalia.

"Anna-Sophie Brosig is an extremely versatile soprano who is equally convincing in opera and Lieder". Her lyrical soprano is "warm and bell-bright in the heights, it shines in every register" (from the laudatory speech to the GWK-Förderpreis 2016). She impresses with her acting skills and great gestures, as well as her sensitivity in chamber music or song.

Anna-Sophie Brosig is a sought-after soloist throughout Germany in the field of Lieder and concert. Her regular repertoire includes ao the Elias and Lobgesang by Felix Mendelssohn, Deutsches Requiem by Johannes Brahms, Stabat Mater by A. Dvorak, Requiem and various Masses by W.A. Mozart, Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248) I-VI, Passions and Cantatas by J.S. Bach. She was accompanied by, among others, members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam, NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover, Niedersächsischen Staatsorchester, Nordwestdeutschen Philharmonie, Bielefelder Philharmoniker and Philharmonie Südwestfalen.

In addition to various recitals, in which she particularly likes to devote himself to romantic Lieder, Anna-Sophie Brosig sang in 2018 Richard Wagner's Wesendonck Lieder with the Jungen Sinfoniker under the baton of György Mèszàros. Solo concerts have also taken her to Italy, Sweden, Greece, Montenegro and the Netherlands.

In addition to her solo duties, Anna-Sophie Brosig sings in various renowned ensembles; She has been gaining important experience as a guest soprano in the WDR Rundfunkchor Köln (Director: Stefan Parkman) since 2017, and since 2016 she has been a member of the Kammerchor Stuttgart under the direction of Frieder Bernius, where she regularly performs solo projects. Concert tours took her to China, Taiwan, Canada, Israel, the USA and all of Europe.

With these and other professional choirs (including Chorus Musicus Köln (Director: Christoph Spering)) Anna-Sophie Brosig participated in various CD productions. In 2016, the CD "Maria Montessori" by composer Matthias Bonitz was also released by Encora label, on which she sings Maria Montessori. She currently lives in Münster, Germany.
