The English baritone, Stephen Charlesworth (known as Larry), joined the BBC Singers in 1988 after 10 years freelancing with groups such as The Monteverdi Choir and The Taverner Consort. He was for many years a member of the Close Harmony group The Light Blues along with two of his present colleagues. He sings, when BBC duties allow, with the medieval music group Gothic Voices and also The Tallis Scholars. He lives near Winnie-the-Pooh on the Ashdown Forest with his wife, soprano Lucinda Houghton, and four children. |
