The Taiwanese pianist and harpsichordisr, Yu-Ning Chuang (Chinese: 莊祐甯), began playing piano and improvisation at the age of 4. In 2010, he started taking part in numerous international competitions and won first prizes, including the Taiwan Qualification Competition for Japan Classical Piano Competition, the 21st Young Musician International Competition "Citta di Barletta" in Italy, and the 5th International Music Competition "sforzando" in Berlin. In 2011, at the age of 16, he began studying piano with Professor Lilya Zilberstein and harpsichord with Professor Menno van Delft at the University of Music and Theatre Hamburg and obtained his Bachelor Degree in 2015. In 2014-2015 he was Musician member of Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Hamburg e. V. He continued his graduate study and obtained his Masters Degree with honours from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (2015-2017), under the guidance of Professor Lilya Zilberstein (piano) and Dr. Petra Zenker (harpsichord). In 2018, he was granted the award for the Top International Music Talent Program from National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra. He has also studied with Angela Hewitt. He obtained his the Postgraduate Diploma at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (2017-2019). Since 2018, he is pursuing the Artist Diploma under the guidance of Professor Jochen Köhler at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. |
