Wynn Erickson (Harpsichord)

Born: Port Ludlow, Washington, USA

Wynn Erickson is a classically trained musician and keyboardist.. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Music degree from Seattle University and his Master of Music degree in composition from the University of the Pacific: Conservatory of Music in Stockton, California in 1974.

Wynn Erickson is the recipient of the Thalia All-Northwest Award in Composition. His work encompasses a wide variety of genres, showing influences of Folk, Rock, Jazz, Classical and Ethnic music. His pieces are melodic and have a strong emotional content due to the chordal structure, which is varied and unusual, often times surprising, and occasionally startling. His work shows rhythmic variety, and defies categorization. There is a feeling of history and romance in his music, along with a contemporary slant with an unique harmonic twist. He has released his 27 albums of instrumental music. His music was featured this last Halloween at the Transylvanian Ball in Portland, Oregon. He now splits his time between Washington state and Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.
