Lanneke Jones (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

The Australian mezzo-sorano, Lanneke Jones, began her love of performing at an early age when she made her Sydney Opera House debut at the age of 5. She performed with Opera Australia’s Children’s Chorus for some years, then became a solo performer and toured over four years as Flora in Benjamin Britten’s Turn of the Screw. As a teenager she made many trips to New Orleans and learnt how to sing and swing Jazz and Gospel music. She studied at Sydney Conservatorium; graduated with Honours in Music and Education from University of New South Wales (1990-1995); formed an “a cappella” quartet Sorelle and her own band “Soul Kiss”.

Lanneke Jones is a professional singer and teacher in classical and contemporary music, freelancing with Corporate Bands and Sydney’s Jazz musicians. She joined the prestigious acappella ensemble The Song Company full-time in 2009 with which has seen her touring to China, New Zealand and around Australia regularly (October 2009-December 2012). She later was a member of Café of the Gate of Salvation; member of Opera Australia; Sydney Philharmonia Choirs and Motet, and member of Bach Akademie Australia (Director: Madeleine Easton). She is also Contemporary R&B, Jazz singer.

Lanneke Jones is Teacher and Festival Director with a demonstrated history of working in the music education and management industry. Skilled in Coaching, Voice Lessons, Jazz, and Choral Conducting. Strong education professional. She has served as Voice Teacher/Choir Director at Loreto Kirribilli (2007-2009); Choir Conductor of SingUp Choirs at The Sea Naturals, Cronulla, Sydney A Cappella community choirs (January 2013-December 2019); Music Festival Director, Music Teacher at Loreto Kirribilli (January 2013-December 2019); Teacher at Reddam Early Learning Centre Lindfield (January-May 2020). She is Conductor of Mini choirs at Gondwana Choirs
