In 2012 the Chor der Kalvarienbergkirche (Choir of Calvary Church) celebrated 25 years of Elisabeth Zottele as their Director. During this time, the choir grew steadily and is now one of the 70 active singers.
Numerous works of famous composers from Baroque to contemporary are included in the wide repertoire of the choir. Demanding a-cappella literature and small to large choral orchestral works alternate.
By the theological background of the liturgical choir director involvement of the works takes on a central role. The sacred music as an expression of profound communion with God is experienced in the Kalvarienbergkirche. The large audience experience spirit-inspired music both in concerts and in a tumultuous masses,.
The choir is heard not only in their own church, but is also welcome guest in concerts in and around Vienna. The spirit of the music is felt in the community choir. Choir rehearsals are therefore always held in the church or in monasteries as Göttweig, Vorau, Altenburg and many more. |
