Joël Morand (Tenor)

Born: 1992 - Solothurn, Switzerland

The Swiss tenor, Joël Morand, has had passion for music for almost a lifetime. He gained his first singing experience with the singing boys of the St. Ursenkathedral Solothurn, of which he was a member for over 15 years. He remained loyal to the singing afterwards, after completing his training as a primary teacher, studying music at the Hochschule Luzern. Since 2015 he has been enjoying musical training in classical singing and conducting with the aim of completing his studies with a master's degree in choral conducting.

In addition to his work as a soloist, Joël Morand is also very committed as an ensemble singer. The tenor sings in the Lucerne ensembles Collegium Vocale zu Franziskanern and Molto Cantabile. He is a member of the Davos Festival Kammerchor and is involved in projects of Ensemble Corund and Ensemble Larynx. He is also a member of Chor der J.S. Bach-Stiftung St. Gallen (Director: Rudolf Lutz; since 2019). He has been singing at the Davos Festival since 2018 and will also be featured in the current program.

In order to pass on his joy in music, Joël Morand also rehearses and sings regularly with various children's and youth choirs. Since 2018 he has been conducting the chamber music ensemble Collegium Vocale Solothurn.
