The Cilean baritone, Cristián Eduardo Moya Cifuentes, studied Studied classical music recording and amplification at at Vicente Perez Rosales (VIPRO) in Santiago (1991-1995). He graduated with maximum distinction as superior interpreter with a mention in singing, from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago (March 1997-2002). • His improvement has led him to have tenor classes with Bruno Pola (Italy) and to attend master-classes with Mirella Freni (Italy).
Cristián Moya's career as a soloist began in 2000 in the role of Sorceress by Dido & Aeneas by H. Purcell, conducted by Silvia Soublette and staged by Jack Edwards (UK). From there he has played different solo roles. Within the most important seasons of opera at the Municipal Theater de Santiago (May 2002-June 2013; April-September 2014), he has worked under the baton of conductors such as Ibes Avel (Canada), Rani Calderon (Israel), Maximiliano Valdes, Konstantin Chudovsky (Russia), Rodolfo Fisher, Jose Luis Dominguez , Pedro-Pablo Prudencio.
In his development as an opera singer Cristián Moya has played Mozartian roles on stage such as Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro, Don Alfonso in Cosi Fan Tutte and Masetto in Don Giovanni under the baton of conductors such as Donato Cabrera (USA), Eduardo Browne, David Ayma, presented in official seasons of theaters such as the Teatro Municipal de Las Condes in Las condes, Santiago (August-September 2018), CORCUDEC, Teatro Municipal Temuco Camilo Salvo in Temuco (since September 2014). He also highlights character roles such as Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rossini) or Gianni Schicchi, Benoit in La Boheme and Sacristan in Tosca (Puccinni) the latter at the Teatro Municipal del Maule under the baton of Francisco Rettig. His repertoire ranges from Baroque to Romanticism.
In the repertoire of oratorio, it is important to highlight Cristián Moya's experience with Maestro Víctor Alarcón, since 2007 in Felix Mendelssohn's oratorio Elíah, from there the collaboration in projects such as Concerto Vocale and Bach Santiago started, of which he was an active part. Under the baton of Francisco Rettig he was the soloist of L.v. Beethoven's Choral Symphony No. 9 and soloist also in George Frideric Handel's oratorio Messiah under the baton of David Ayma.
Cristián Moya taught singing at Academia Verónica Villarroel (2014-March 2015) and at Universidad de Talca (March 2014-March 2019). He is an active collaborator of the Opera Nacional project, directed by the singer and researcher Gonzalo Cuadra, a project that seeks to rescue the operas composed by Chilean composers since the end of the 19th century. |
