Norddeutscher Figuralchor (Choir)

Founded: 1981 - Germany

Norddeutscher Figuralchor (= NDFC) (North German Figural Choir) was established in 1981 by Jörg Straube. All of its members have been musically and vocally trained. The Choir places special focus on the a-capella repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to the contemporary period. Concert tours in Germany and abroad as well as recordings for several radio stations have earned the ensemble considerable reputation.

The NDFC has on more than one occasion been the recipient of prizes in the Lower Saxony and German National Choral Competitions.

The first recording made by the NDFC was awarded the German Record Critics’ Prize in 1989.
