Lóránt Najbauer (Baritone)

Born: April 3, 1984 - Pécs, Hungary

The Hungarian baritone, Lóránt Najbauer [Neubauer], graduated in economics from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and graduated with Master of Music degre in opera from Yale University. He has earned prestigious prizes at numerous music competitions: 1st prize at the Virginia Hawk Singing Competition, Musical Merit Foundation Competition, and H.B. In Goodlin's fellowship program; he finished 2nd in the La Jolla Young Artists Competition and 3rd in the final of the Metropolitan Opera National Council's Western Region Singing Competition. In addition, he won 2nd place in József Simándy International Singing Competition.

During his career as a singer Lóránt Najbauer draws from several periods of music literature. His repertoire includes Baroque music, Mozart's operas, the most significant oratorical works, and (as a member of the Sixtones) the most popular works of the acapella genre. He is regularly heard abroad as a soloist. He has performed at the Carnegie Hall in London with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, San Diego Opera with Bach Collegium San Diego (Director: Ruben Valenzuela), La Jolla Symphony and Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. He also regularly performs as a soloist in the Hungarian concert life. He has collaborated as a soloist with the Budapesti Fesztivál Zenekarral, Orfeo Orchestra (Director: György Vashegyi), Kodály Filharmónikusokkal, Mendelssohn Kamarazenkarral, Szolnoki Szimfonikusokkal, Győri Filharmonikus Zenekarral, Alba Regia Szimfonikus Zenekarral and Savaria Barokk Zenekarral (Capella Savaria). He has also performed with artists such as Helmuth Rilling, Ferruccio Furlanetto, Christopher Maltman, Ramon Vargas, György Vashegyi, Pál Németh or Soma Dinyés.

In his free time, Lóránt Najbauer loves to hike, read and drink some fine coffee. He currently lives in Budapest, Hungary.
