Kathryn Rolf (Choral Conductor)

Born: USA

The American choral conductor, teacher and church musician, Kathryn Anita Rolf, obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude in Church Music (with concentrations in Choral Conducting and Organ) from Concordia University-St. Paul, Minnesota (1999-2003), where she received the Pro Artibus Award in Music; her Certificate in Applied Ethnomusicology from Bethel University (2005-2008); her Master of Arts degree in Choral Conducting from North Dakota State University (2015-2018); and her DMA degree in Choral Conducting from North Dakota State University (2018-2020; Dissertation: "A Choral Conductor’s Analysis and Performance Practice Recommendations for Selected Psalm Settings by German Baroque Composers", January 2020). At NDSU she studied conducting with Jo Ann Miller and Michael Weber, and taught Ear Training classes.

Kathryn Rolf has served as Director of Parish Music at Zion Lutheran Church in Hopkins, Minnesota. While there, her choir joined with other Minneapolis-area choirs in 2007 to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City, directed by Lynn Trapp; Director of Parish Music at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fargo, North Dakota (since October 2016); Artistic Director and Conductor of Fargo-Moorhead Bach Choir in North Dakota (since January 2020); Director Of Choral Activities at Valley City State University (since March 2021).
