Kantorei Siegen (Choir)

Founded: 1947 - Siegen, Germany

The Kantorei Siegen (= Evangelische Kantorei Siegen) performs with its about 90 members a-cappella works, but also large masses and oratorios with orchestra accompaniment. The Kantorei is comprised from interested people in the region, from university students and graduates from church music courses. In this way, the choir is characterised by a vocally well-mixed sound colour.

Since 1947, the Kantorei Siegen strives to perform an attractive range of church music, in order to enable both the audience and the singers enjoying church music. Each year, the Kantorei Siegen offers a challenging and versatile program. Besides the "classics", known and unknown works from modern literature also find their place in the concerts of the Kantorei.
