The Italian composer, orchestra and choral conductor, Bepi Speranza, studied with Hector Pell, Raffaele Gervasio and Teresa Procaccini, earning diplomas in Composition, Orchestra Conducting, Band Instrumentation, Choral Music and Choral Conducting. He has attended specialization courses in Orchestra Conducting with Nicola Samale, Bruno Aprea, Aldo Ceccato and Leonard Bernstein.
As conductor Bepi Speranza has given over 600 concerts in Italy, Great Britain, France, Germany, Austria and Tunisia and has recorded for RAI (Eurovision), Radio France, BBC and for the record companies Saidera of Tokyo, Spalax of Paris and Mediasat of Milan.
Bepi Speranza is the composer of symphonic, chamber and sacred music, as well as soundtracks for short films and incidental music for the theatre; his works are performed in Italy and abroad (Festival Internazionale di El Jem, New York University, "Lightbox Museum” of Woking-Surrey, etc.). He collaborated in the production of Messa di Orfeo, live performance by Florian Fricke (composer of the soundtracks of W. Herzog's films).
Bepi Speranza was Artistic Director of the III and IV Edition of the Festival Castello in Bari, of the International Festival of Baroque Music "Farinelli" in Andria, co-artistic director of the International Festival of New Sounds "Time Zones" and Artistic Director of the sector dedicated to sacred music part of the del VI Festival Internazionale “Balafon ‘96”. He is a member of the Artistic Direction Committee of the Festival Internazionale della Musica d’Organo “S. Croce” in Bari. He conducted in the presence of Carlo Maria Giulini and S.S. John Paul II. He is Professor at the Conservatorio di Musica “N. Piccinni” in Bari. He currently lives in Bari. |
