Jared Swope (Baritone)

Born: May 1993 - Columbia, Missouri, USA

The American baritone, Jared Swope obtained his Bachelor of Music degrees in Music Education & Voice Performance from Missouri State University (2016); and his Master's of Sacred Music degree in Voice Performance from the University of Notre Dame (2020). Currently, he is studying at Yale University, pursuing a Master's of Music concentrating in Early Music, Oratorio and Chamber Ensemble performance.

Acclaimed for having a voice “perfectly suited to Baroque music” by KCMETROPOLIS, Jared Swope has begun a blossoming career as a solo, oratorio and choral singer. While balancing his studies, he has performed regularly with the Trinity Chamber Artists (KC) and the Tennessee Chamber Chorus. In February 2016, he performed as bass soloist in Te Deum Antiqua’s presentation of Dietrich Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu nostri. In April 2015, he performed as a member of the Carnegie Hall Chamber Chorus alongside Peter PhillipsThe Tallis Scholars in their sold-out ‘Spem In Alium’ Project. In August 2015, he found himself performing 6 cantatas of J.S. Bach under the baton of Helmuth Rilling as a member of the Weimarer Bachkantaten Akademie, in concerts across eastern Germany. He returned to the Academie in 2016. He is equally comfortable in roles of music performer, educator and advocate, firmly believing that music is a beautiful gift to the world that should be spread in every possible way. He sings as a soloist and chorister in a multitude of genres spanning early music, oratorio, newly commissioned works and more. His most recent solo engagements include J.S. Bach's Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme BWV 140 (CORO Vocal Artists) and J.S. Bach's Mass in B-minor BWV 232 (JSB Ensemble), George Frideric Handel's Messiah (Spire Chamber Ensemble), and Georg Philipp Telemann's Johannes-Passion (JSB Ensemble).

As an ensemble singer, Jared Swope has performed with groups such as Spire Chamber Ensemble, CORO Vocal Artists, Chorosynthesis Singers and more. Recording projects include Michael John Trotta's Seven Last Words, Chorosynthesis Singers' album "Empowering Silenced Voices", and numerous publisher recording sessions from Walton Music, GIA Music, Choristers Guild, and Morningstar Publications.
