Gaston Choisnel (Arranger)

The French organist and arranger, (Marie-Louis-) Gaston Choisnel, won second prize in harmony at the Paris Conservatoire in 1879. He succeeded Louis Vierne's uncle, Charles Colin, as organist of Saint-Denis-du-Saint-Sacrement from 1881 and held the post until 1914. After the death of Auguste Durand in 1909, his publishing house was reorganized as Durand a Compagnie, with Jacques Durand and Choisnel as directors.
