Walter Emery (Arranger)

Born: June 14, 1909 - Tilshead, Wiltshire, England
Died: June 24, 1974 - Salisbury, England

The English organist and writer, WaIter (Henry James) Emery, studied organ at the Royal Academy of Music in London. The he was engaged as a church organist. From 1937 to 1969 he was an associate at Novello & Co. in the editorial department.

Walter Emery published: The St. Matthew Passion: Its Preparation and Performance (with Sir Adrian Boult; London, 1949); Bach's Ornaments (London, 1953); Editing Early Music: Notes on the Preparation of Printer's copy (with Thurston Dart and C. Morris; London, 1963); commentaries on Bach's organ works; etc.
