Andrés Aciar (Choral Conductor)

Born: San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina

The Argentinean choral conductor and music pedagogie, Carlos Andrés Aciar, studied at Gymnasium U.N.T in Tucumán, and at Facultad de Bellas Artes of the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP), obtaining degrees as Professor of instrumental and chamber ensembles, choral and orchestral conducting.

Carlos Andrés Aciar's teaching pos have include: Professor Audioperceptiva at Escuela Superior de Educación Artística (1993-1994); Professor Rhythm and Percussionat at Escuela Superior de Educación Artística (1991-1996s); Professor of Elements of Composition at Escuela Superior de Educación Artística (1993-1996); Professor of Basic Elements of Composition at Escuela de Artes Musicales de la Universidad Nacional de Tucumán (1995-1996); Professor of Practice and Coordination of instrumental ensembles at Conservatorio Provincial de Tres Arroyos (1998-2001); Workshop Coordinator and Professor of Orchestral Practice Orquesta Escuela de Bolívar - Sistema Nacional de Orquestas Infantiles y Juveniles (March 2009- March 2012); Professor of French diction at Conservatorio Provincial "Julián Aguirre" (November 2001-Present); Professor at Choir at Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires (June 2002-Present).

His choral direction posts have included: Choir Director of Coro Música Esperanza (1991-1996); Choir Director of Coro Mixto de la Secretaría de Educación de Tucumán (1992-1996); Choir Director of Coro Polifónico de América (March 2001-2005); Choir Director at Instituto Superior de Cultura Religiosa (March 2002-Present); Choir Director of Coro de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, UBA (June 2002-Present); Director of the Chamber Choir Conservatorio Provincial Julián Aguirre in Banfield, province of Buenos Aires (December 2014-Present). In addition, he is a performer of Andean wind instruments, playing Argentine and Latin American Folklore (March 1984-Present).

His specialties are: Choir Director, Conductor, Performer Andean wind instruments, organizer of musical events, clinics, workshops, etc. Professor of Vocal Technique, wind instruments and various musical specialties. In addition, he is a member of Asociación de Directores de Coro de la República Argentina (Choral Directors Association of Argentina (Buenos Aires headquarters) AAMCANT (Asociación América Cantat). He currently lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
