The original Berliner Motettenchor (Berlin Motet Choir) was led by the esteemed German conductor, Fritz Lehmann. The choir, which was re-created in 1994, consists of professional singers, music students and singers and amteur singers professionally trained in music. The director Günter Brick works with this choir in small size. In the past years the choir has performed in public the Motets and Passions of J.S. Bach, several oratorios of George Frideric Handel, the Requiem of Mozart as well as numerous motets of Heinrich Schütz and Hugo Distler.
