The German violinist and conductor, Bernhard Forck, studied violin at the Musikhochschule in Berlin with Professor Eberhard Feltz. From 1986 until 1991 he was a member of the Berliner Symphoniker. During his studies, he became interested in
Baroque violin and took lessons with Ingrid Seiffert, Catherine Mackintosh and Nikolaus Harnoncourt.
Since 1984 Bernhard Forck has been a member and a concert-master of the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin. He is also active in the Berlin music life, bu appearing in own
concerts and by participation in oratorio concerts of the RIAS-Kammerchor, and
Baroque operas at the Staatsoper under René Jacobs. He is also a violinist in many chamber ensembles, most notably the Ensemble Oriol, with which he started the Manon Quartet in 1994. The quartet has given concerts in the USA and Germany, and recently was named as ‘Quartet in Residence’ at the Tanglewood Music Festival.
