Zsuzsanna Kapi (Soprano)

Born: 1995 - Várpalota, Hungary

The Hungarian soprano, Zsuzsanna Kapi, grew up in a family of musicians. She learned to play the violin for 14 years, which she pursues as a hobby today. She graduated from the Kodály Zoltán Magyar Kórusiskolában in 2017 as a soloist, her teachers were László Beöthy-Kiss and Andrea Csereklyei. During her high school years in 2016, she won a special prize at the 4th National High School Singing Competition. In 2017, she was admitted to the Győri Széchenyi István Egyetemre as a student of Magdolna Szabó. In 2018, she won a special prize in the TMDK competition of Széchenyi István Egyetem. She studied for her master's degree in opera at the Debreceni Egyetem Zeneművészeti Karán, in the class of Iván Ildiko Iván. The conductor Géza Török helps with her development in shaping opera roles. She has studied in master-classes from several singers: Marcel Boone, Atilla Kiss-B., Krisztina Láki, Éva Bátori, Ingrid Kertesi, Iván Ildikó, Constance Fee, Tünde Szabóki, László Stachó. She currently studies Classical singing / Opera at Franz Liszt Academy of Music (since August 2021).

In 2018, Zsuzsanna Kapi participated in the premiere of Márton Horváth's duet cycle Levente: Fodrok as a partner of Andrea Csereklyei, accompanied by the compooser on piano. Since 2019, she has been a member of the Internationale Chorakademie Lübeck, an international choir of soloist voices. In 2021, she won 1st place at the Danubia Talents 3rd "Wiener Klassiker" International Online Music Competition; and in June 2021 she won 2nd place at International Moscow Music Competition. She is currently preparing for two important performances: the title role of Giacomo Puccini's opera Suor Angelica and the role of Mademoiselle Silberklang in Mozart's Der Schauspieldirektor, organized by the Debreceni Egyetem. She was also a member of Istvánffy Kamarakórus (Director: Lőrinc Muntag).

Bach: cantatas 2, 4 and 61 (soprano solo) Ferencvárosi templom, conducted by Lőrinc Muntag; 2016: W.A. Mozart Die Zauberflöte - Third Boy - Stuttgart, Augsburg, Mannheim, Heilbronn, Fertőrákosi Barlangszínház. conducted by: László Gyükér; 2016: A. Vivaldi: Gloria (soprano solo) Buda Capuchin Church, conducted by: Benedek Héja.

In her free time, Zsuzsanna enjoys playing sports, hiking, traveling, reading and baking. She currently lives in Bodapest, Hungary.
