Tetsuya Odagawa (Bass)

Born: Japan

The Japanese bass, Tetsuya Odagawa [Japanese: 小田川 哲也], studied at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (vocal graduated), and at the Graduate School of Graduate Degree. He completed his studies at the Nikikai Opera studio. He won the Excellence Award at the time of completion.

Tetsuya Odagawa made his is opera debut with role of Colline role in Puccini's La Boheme, and continued with roles in other operas as W.A. Mozart Le nozze di Figaro and Don Giovanni, Verdi's Macbeth and Un ballo in maschera, Georges Bizet's Carmen, and Wagner's Tannhauser. He is also active in concerts with focus on sacred works such as J.S. Bach's cantatas and Passions, and Monteverdi's Vespro della Beata Vergine. He was a member of the Bach Collegium Japan (Director: Masaaki Suzuki), participating in the concert tours /and recordings. He is a Nikikai member.
