Cíntia de los Santos (Soprano)

Born: Porto Alegre, , Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil

The lyrical soprano and vocal trainer, Cíntia de los Santos Alves, began her musical studies with her mother at the age of 6. She graduated from from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1991), qualification in Piano (1991-1996), Bachelor of Music degree in Choral Conducting (since 2019/2020), studying POSITIVE VOICE with Crismarie Hackenberg (Rio de Janeiro). She has been acting as an interpreter and vocal coach since 1992 in cities in Brazil and abroad. She studied with internationally renowned singers and teachers, being accepted into the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, Switzerland; the Conservatory of Music in Lyon, France; Tokyo Geidai University, Japan for her Master studies in Baroque Singing; and the University of Southern Mississippi, USA for her Master studies in Opera (2007-2008).

In 2004 Cíntia de los Santos stood out as the first Brazilian lyrical soprano to sing the baroque works George Frideric Handel'a Messiah and J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244) at the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, China, conducted by Nicholas Smith (England). She is the winner of the Prêmio Açorianos de Música as the best performer of classical music for the CD "Serenata - Canções para Soprano e Fortepiano". With the musical partnership of pianist Rodolfo Wulfhorst, she interprets an erudite repertoire that includes compositions by Brazilian, Latin and North American musicians, with the aim of disseminating and bringing this musical genre closer to the public.

Cíntia de los Santos has also worked as voice teacher/vocal coach at Coral da UFRGS in Porto Alegre (2008-2016); voice teacher/vocal coach at Petrobras - Transpetro in Osório, Rio Grande Do Sul (2009-2012); Técnica Administrativa em Educação at PUCRS in Porto Alegre (2014-2019); voice teacher/vocal coach at Actemus - Academia de Teatro Musical de Porto Alegre (July-December 2015); Singer & vocal coach at Coral Viva La Vida in Porto Alegre (since March 2019); Teacher of Singing and Vocal Technique at Crivellaro Escola de Música in Porto Alegre (since March 2019).
